A quiet, sunny, Switch Witch summer fair

Well…..I think I need a new weather app. The forecast for today and yesterday actually should have said: “perfect weather for strolling the beach!” While it was quite lovely sitting under my tent beneath the perfect blue sky and gentle ocean breeze, it was also quite quiet.

Not a lot of shopping going on this time around at the Chatham Arts and Crafts Fair. I did though meet a few enthusiastic parents, grandparents, children, and teachers who took a Switch Witch home with them, and some others who decided to order on our website as Halloween gets closer. So now the tent, table, orange tablecloth, and coloring pages are packed away until… Grotonfest in Groton, MA! Thanks for reading, and stay tuned. - Lara

Incoming Switch Witches!

The car is loaded! Tent - check. Table - check. Orange tablecloth - check. Coloring pages and crayons for kids - check. Books to sign - check. SWITCH WITCHES - check, check, check!! I am heading back to the Chatham, MA Arts and Crafts Fair tomorrow and Thursday. The weather forecast is calling for “perfect weather to stroll and shop at a crafts fair.” Really! That’s what it said on my weather app. I am excited to meet more families and hopefully bring the magical tradition of Switch Witches to more homes. ‘Til tomorrow, Lara

A great big “THANK YOU” to Organic Market and the generous, kind owner: Rory Eames! It was such a treat to set up a Switch Witch table in front of the beautiful, brand new Mashpee Commons location. My whole family and I made the trip - in part so we could try out the store’s juice bar. I have to say, my daughter was quite pleased with her beautiful purple smoothie. I’m pretty sure we all got “brain freeze” from drinking our juices so quickly. Totally worth it.

Of course, I welcomed the opportunity to grocery shop after talking with other customers about Switch Witch during the lunchtime hours. And….another retail store is now selling Switch Witch in Mashpee Commons and Plymouth! I met with Terri Gordon at setting the space - a staging and interior design shop. Hey there, it’s Lara Spear Riley - Switch Witch author. My first blog, and what a fantastic week to report! We spent three days at the Chatham Arts and Crafts Show in Chatham, MA. It was a wonderful experience to start sharing our book and doll with so many new families in person. The reactions from parents were so encouraging, but of course the reactions from the kids were what made the fair such a rewarding success.

In addition, we celebrated another milestone this past week as we saw our colorful Switch Witch boxes on our first retail shelves. Dolli Llama jewelry shop in Chatham, MA and all three Organic Markets of Cape Cod are now selling Switch Witch! Also, the charming children’s indie bookstore “Where The Sidewalk Ends” in Chatham, MA will be carrying Switch Witch this fall. Our Facebook page is up and running, so please visit us there as well.
